About Azzurra

A story about men and the sea

1983

"In ancient Greece the sea wasn’t seen as an obstacle or a barrier but as a bridge between opposite banks, both geographically and metaphorically. A synonym for a connection between point A and point B, a way to communicate between cultures through trade. Therefore, the root of the word “bridge” or “pontem” in Latin is originally given to us by the sea. The brand is named after the historic boat Azzurra which was presented by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda as the first Italian Challenger in history for the America's Cup of 1983. Strengthened by these values which encompass the sea as a bonding element, the brand brings together two collections repressenting sports and leisure. Mediterranean elegance and Italian design gather the essence of tailoring the Inghirami group."
